We had a fantastic experience renting our 8-seater campervan. It was easy to pick up the car, even on a public holiday. The vehicle was spotless, comfortable, and fuel-efficient despite the long journeys we took. Returning the vehicle directly to my drop-off zone was also incredibly smooth, and the agent who collected the car was very friendly and welcoming. If we return to New Zealand, we will definitely rent from them again.

The 12 seater van felt like part of the family after 12 days of hire. Loved the space and luggage compartment. It was the best way to travel over 2500 kms not feeling clammed up in a smaller vehicle.. Very reliable vehicle and Samuels will always be my place of choice when I’m in NZ.

Great experience with our 2-week hire from Samuel's Rentals. The 8-seat Mercedes Valente was comfy, roomy and easy to drive. It fitted the 6 of us easily, with 6 suitcases and other bags comfortably and made our 2,700km trip around the South Island so much more enjoyable. Wonderful experience with Samuels car hire. Great communications when I landed at Queenstown there was someone waiting there for me to show me to the car. I went with another family who booked another car service where a shuttle bus took them to another location to pick up the car which added 2-3 hours to our trip. Samuel’s car hire just made things simple for us and especially after a long flight. Returning the car was easy and close to the airport. We hired a 8 seater luxury van. It was safe, excellent, clean, spacious, and had enough room for 8 of us with ample luggage space. Their van matches the description and the price we paid for. Communication and booking process was easy and confirmation was swift. The whole booking and the pick up and return process was easy and at the airport itself. We will rebook again with Samuels if we travel in groups again. Thank you and highly recommend them.

We hired a 12 Seat Sprinter Prestige for our 16 day family trip with 9 individuals. The van had sufficient space for all of us and all the luggage we had for which there is a separate compartment at the back of the van (We had 9 full sized bags and 10-12 carry on luggage + provisions etc). It was very convenient and easy to communicate with the team. Didn't get the insurance for the windscreen damage, unfortunately while driving a flying piece of stone from the rear tires of the car in front created a chip in the front windscreen. At return, the team at Samuels got it quoted from a windscreen repair company and back charged a very reasonable amount (under our excess). Also, I genuinely forgot to refill the car with Diesel on return, they simply refilled it and back charged me the exact amount, unlike other well known rental companies who used to charge premium rates for refills. I would definitely recommend Samuel's for renting a vehicle in NZ. In our next visit I will for sure rent it from them. On the cons, it was hard to find Samuel's Vehicle Hire on the internet (Google Search for vehicle rentals showed the usual rental companies). Read about them on a reddit post or so and contacted them.

A brilliant experience with Samuels from beginning to end. They are more of a niche provider so some of the processes are a bit more manual but all the communication was excellent. Becky was understanding and helpful even when I had a bit of an issue with making my payment on time due to a problem at my bank. Sharon was there waiting for us when we landed and was super nice and helpful, even offering some tips for our trip and helping me when I couldn't contact the Christchurch office for drop off a week later. The van was immaculate and fantastic to drive and very comfortable for our group and all our luggage. I would 100% recommend Samuels and if I ever have the opportunity to use them again, I won't consider anyone else.
